Painter Josh Keyes is very popular in our home. Particularly for his tendency to feature bears in his work, but I also love his clean and bold brush technique. His post-apocalyptic/environmental subject matter helps remind us all that this planet is not going to last forever – particularly at the current rate. We are the proud owners of this print, entitled “The Call”.
The art blog Arrested Motion has a great post featuring some amazing photos of Josh’s creative process and a peak inside his sketch book.
I lifted a couple pics for you to see here, but you really should drop by this post for the full affect.
A lot of these paintings were recently featured in a solo show “Fragment” at the Jonathan LeVine Gallery in New York.
And for good measure here are a few more finished pieces for you to ogle from this Yale MFA grad.
