Mmm Mmm Mmm…. Listening to Mayer Hawthorne is like biting into a freshly-baked cookie. There’s something so warm and wholesome and delicious about it. Check out this video for the song “One Track Mind” from his album A Strange Arrangement (which was part of our required listening back in March). The video is a bit reminiscent of Lars and The Real Girl… kind of interesting that he decided to go this route for this video. It’s also interesting that he didn’t play the main character, as he has done for some of his other videos… Mayer’s actually the “office mate” in this one. According to his touring schedule, he’s traveling around Europe right now, but it looks like he’ll be heading back in this direction in late August/early September. Sweet!

If you haven’t already made the switch from Firefox to Google Chrome maybe the wacky speed test video below will git-cha movin’. I’m really surprised by the creativity shown in the Chrome ads. Google has always been the geeky engineer type ruled by function over form and despite the MythBuster type feel, these ads seem like Google might be coming out of its shell a bit.
I’ve been using chrome on my work PC for over a year now and love it! I made the switch on the mac once I finished building the blog at the start of the year. The Mac version is still a little buggy in places ( it’s still in beta, so I cut it some slack), but overall I find the browsing experience more enjoyable.

Peep that Bloodhound! OMG! He’s only in there for a split second, but totally worth it. 1000fps pretty much makes anything look cool, even a dog food commercial. The flourishing soundtrack helps too.
