Y’all. Kate Spade is freakin blowing my mind right now. It’s like J. Crew on crack. Or steroids…. or both.
I have really big hands and bangles are just kind of awkward on me but I still love the fact that there’s a bangle that says “No Sleep Till Brooklyn.” And umm, hi there, blue skirt. I know I already have something that looks a lot like you…. but you are adorable and can you please come live in my closet?
Married to the Mob is a female run, NYC based, women only streetwear brand. This video is a really neat concept featuring most of their summer line within the narrative.
The Ace Hotel New York and Project No. 8 teamed up to create No. 8a, a curated boutique at the Ace that offers “intelligent and well-executed ideas.” The above video is for Revolution as prefume/fragrance inspired by the smell of revolution. The fragrance’s creator Lisa Kirk traveled the world to interview ten living cultural and political radicals about their memory of the smell of revolution.
“Revolution is more of an art piece than a perfume. It contains, among other scents, the smell of smoke, tear gas, and gasoline, and acts as an olfactory critique on contemporary luxury branding and political im/possibilities. Surprisingly, it smells really good.”
This super limited edition perfume is now available at No. 8a and it’s crazy expensive – think $3,750 up to $47,750 for the solid Platinum pipe bomb bottle/atomizer. I might just riot if anyone actually buys this stuff. Cool concept though.
Daydreaming about all the pretty little frocks from the Dace Spring 2010 collection. Wouldn’t it be fabulous to look so effortless and chic and… je ne sais pas, all the time? And drink coffee at sidewalk cafes? And have a dog with long floppy ears?
Yep, that’s a giant bonnet made out of braided hair. Part of a really cool collaboration between a hairdressing academy and Spanish design company CuldeSac. Amazing… but I wonder how much it weighs… and I wouldn’t want to sit behind this chick at a movie.
Out of curiosity: what’s the craziest and/or most regrettable thing you’ve ever done with your hair? I know I look back at some of my self-styled updo’s from high school dances and I die a little bit inside. All those curls and hairspray, eww.
It would be awesome if one of the world’s most dominant and feared soccer teams would be “murdered out” on the pitch come the World Cup in South Africa this June. However, it’s just going to be fans of the “Joga Bonito” or “Beautiful Game.” Nike Sportswear, Nike’s “fashion” division, has reinterpreted Team Brazil’s on-field gear with a tough new color palette – only keeping the country’s crest in the traditional yellow. The Brazil Black Pack will be hitting select retailers soon. See more details after the cut:
I received a pair of black leather Zuriick Caldwells for Christmas and love them. I saw that they added a great new premium line to their collection this season. If I didn’t drop some serious coin on my birthday present (thank you Uncle Sam), I would be seriously considering the black and grey Shügs above. It’s been exactly one month since the world lost Alexander McQueen. His final collection was shown in Paris a couple days ago during Fashion Week, and although somewhat haunting, the pieces are absolutely breathtaking. This gown, the final piece in the show, was painstakingly covered in gold leaf, and that explosion of embroidered tulle is just incredible!
I’m not dapper or wealthy enough to sport a suit or blazer and my shoulders are too damn big to dig up anything good second hand. But if I did, it would pretty sweet to tack on one of these babies on my lapel.
“The traditional gamsbart, which is what this pin is based on, is typically worn on the hat of hunters in the Alpine region of Europe. In theory, the size of the gamsbart reflects one’s manliness.”
Which make sense, since you kinda gotta be a BAMF to step out with a small bird chillin’ on your chest. You can pick up any of the three above at the Cooper-Hewitt Museum for $40 a pop. No lederhosen required.
