How is it already September!? I’m not ready to say goodbye to summer… not quite. We’re going to try desperately to hang on to that summer feeling this weekend. We’ve got plans for a lazy brunch on Abbot Kinney, followed by lots of beach time, maybe a nice little nap in the sun. Thankfully, here in L.A. the real summer weather happens between August and October, so maybe we’ll still be enjoying the warmth and sunshine while the rest of the country starts unpacking boots and sweaters. And maybe I still have time to have that crab boil, which is the only thing I didn’t get to on my list of summer plans. Hey, 9 out of 10 ain’t bad!

I don’t know what it is, but I’ve been really into Venn Diagrams lately. I think it started when I was trying to explain to my friend Monica what a “meathead” was, and my explanation resulted in a Venn Diagram that also included circles for Guidos and Jersey Shore. I love how a Venn Diagram can explain relationships in a way nothing else can. Here are some more of my favorite Venns from around the interwebs…

1. Go to the beach at least once a week. Doing pretty well on this one so far.
2. Eat copious amounts of fresh fruit.
3. Paint my toenails really bright colors.
4. Go for lots of early-evening walks with Beans.
5. Throw parties in our backyard. Perhaps a good ol’ fashioned crab boil?
6. Use our ice cream maker.
7. Read. Nap. Try not to do both at the same time, but fail miserably.
8. Explore more neighborhoods in L.A.
9. Roast marshmallows over the fire pit.
10. Be shamelessly lazy.
