We’re having a little tree-trimming party on Friday night, and I’m secretly pine-ing (ha!) for a couple of these felt ornaments from Etsy shop Red Marionette. Aren’t they adorable!?! Each one has his own little personality… for example, Nester the Bear “loves chestnuts roasting by an open fire and snowball fights. He has a thing for spiced cider with a kick to it, you will have to watch him carefully.”
Thief & Bandit is a wonderful Etsy shop by Amie Cunningham, a woodcarver, designer, and artist by way of Canada and now living and working in Richmond, VA. Her tribal patterns look awesome against simple tees and dresses.
With Christmas & Chanukah fast approaching, we’re going to try and feature more of our favorite Etsy sellers here on GBM to hopefully help you find that perfect something for that perfect someone. It’s also primarily a by-product of us spending more time hunting for gifts on Etsy too.
Today we’ve got LAYERxlayer, the New York based “collaborative Studio founded by Patrick and Leah.” These guys are bangin’ out handmade denim bags that would look equally great while you’re cruising around town, riding your bike, or gathering sticks in the woods. Ain’t nothing better than a quality stick.
“We use the highest quality materials to ensure that what we design will get better with age, as most things worth holding on to should.”
I’m totally diggin’ these wonderfully whimsical bookmobiles by Etsy seller The Shophouse. These hanging pieces of art are made from vintage books and their carefully recontextualized pages. The one above is made from Botany for Gardeners published in 1957. I remember seeing a similar folded paper wall installation at Anthropologie in Santa Monica a few seasons ago. I wonder which came first? Regardless, Lisa Occhipinti, the proprietor of this little shop from Venice, CA has a beautiful thing going. Continue reading…
It’s been a while since we’ve done an Etsy Gems post and we’ve got another great seller we want to show off. Again, we aren’t getting anything for this – we just want to tell others about Etsy sellers we love.
Today I’m talking about to(HOLD), the awesome Los Angeles based shop that creates a “unique line of botanical decor designed with live air plants.” Check out more items after the jump: Continue reading…
Next up in our “Etsy Gems” series: Pigeon Toe Ceramics! Man, these guys are amazing. They consistently churn out über-sexy planters, bowls, and vases. Each piece has such a uniquely handcrafted feel, and the designs are just so lovely! We’re definitely fans.
So we’re kickin’ off a new series called “Etsy Gems,” which will feature our favorite Etsy sellers. These are not sponsor posts – just shops we think are totally rad and need some love. Continue reading…
