Weekender
Wooo! What a weekend. We’re still recuperating. Friday night we went out to Arsenal to watch the Lakers game, and have a little farewell party for my colleague who’s moving to New York. Well, drinks and bar food turned into cigars at Buena Vista Cigar Club, which then led to gluttonous face-stuffing at Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles…
We resolved to engage in healthier activities on Saturday, but Umami Burger lured us in while we were wandering around Space 15 Twenty. We had always wanted to give it a try, especially after Joy had raved about the melt-in-your-mouth burgers. Curt went with the specialty of the house, the Umami Burger, and I devoured the most perfectly meaty, juicy patty topped with truffle cheese. A burger has never been so decadent.
Bobby of Kitsune Noir has a really cool collaborative project going on at Space 15 Twenty. He teamed up with Poketo and invited a handful of local artists to display their work. I think Curt’s got a full post about the show coming down the pipeline, so keep an eye out for it.
Before heading home we decided to drop by CB2 to try to make a dent in all the gift cards we got as wedding gifts. Scored a sweet mirror made from a recycled bicycle wheel (forgot to take pictures today, sorry) and a couple other little goodies. Here’s a little peek at some of their latest designs…
