Romain Gavras

If you want to make a lot of buzz with your music video, but get it banned from ever playing on MTV or even YouTube, director Romain Gavras is your man. Romain’s most recent rabbel-rousing music video is for M.I.A.’s new single “Born Free” which is the first single off of her forthcoming album set to drop on June 29th. I think Romain’s work is brilliant and takes the music video medium to a whole other cinematic level. “Born Free” and “Stress” by Jus†ice are two incredible videos – yes they are very violent and shocking videos, but that’s exactly the point. They are so real feeling that they elicit an emotional response that most of Hollywood can’t create. And remember this is just a MUSIC VIDEO!
