Weekender
Took an extra day to get all these pics edited. We spent Friday evening celebrating Jess’s work promotion by nomming on delectable French finger food and wine at Ratata. In true French fashion, we sat around talking and drinking until closing time. Saturday was spent in the desert with family and friends celebrating the life of my grandmother – and playing with gadgets (my uncle works for Google so they give him all the latest and greatest to make new apps and programs for). This post’s a doozy so sit back and relax.
My aunt had converted all the old family reel-to-reel films to DVD.
I designed those little memorial keepsakes, featuring my grandma’s favorite portrait, ringed by a design from her favorite poetry book.
Stone-faced Ava. You could pay this baby a million bucks and she still wouldn’t crack a smile.
My dad spent most of the afternoon archiving all the old family photos. There were hundreds, all in different albums, so it took a while.
My cousins and I knocked all the tiles off this abandoned snack (and all the other shacks in a thee mile radius) about a decade ago. It’s pretty funny, there’s a ring of nothing but pebbles around these shacks where we cleared the ground of all the throwing rocks – which are thusly clustered around the shack.
…Aaaaand In N Out. Extra toasted buns. Perfect end to a great weekend.

awww, thanks!! it was actually a shirt/skirt combo! both very lucky nordstrom rack scores. aaaaand, i’m obsessed with the spool no. 72 dress. definitely very similar to my outfit which means I can’t convince curt to let me get it, but i luuurve it. J tree was awesome, it’s always such a great spot for pictures. the iPad is pretty sweet but neither one of us could really see ourselves having much use for it, since we use our laptops for all those same things, and we’re rarely in settings where a laptop is too big/heavy/inconvenient. i was way more intrigued by uncle bill’s phone… it’s the google nexus one, which we’re both hoping to get in the near future. played around with it for a while and i’m definitely a huge fan.
hope you had an awesome weekend!!!
