Pendleton
So yeah, Pendleton. I’ve been trying to incorporate some Native American (navajo rug)/Middle Eastern patterns (kilim) into our home for over a year now. I’ve just never found the colors I’m looking for at a price I’m willing to pay. Portland’s Pendleton Woolen Mills is prospering from the heritage brand revival taking place here in the states. This family owned mill has been producing wool blankets inspired by ancient Native American patterns for 140 years. Some of their patterns are really beautiful, and some are just a little too rustic for me, but that’s ok.
However, I’m a little bummed, in a selfish way, that Urban Outfitters is now collaborating with Pendleton – which is awesome for Pendleton, but now every hipster college student and jr. higher with a credit card will be coppin’ our style.
Below are some pieces from the Urban Outfitters Line or you can nut up and get the good stuff from Blackbird (which is a totally wicked sweet store if you’ve got coin to blow)
