Grizzly Eats: Bad to the Bone

Other than, well, each other, Bad to the Bone might just be the love of our lives. We love their BBQ so much that we got them to cater our wedding. They delivered the meaty, saucy, cheesy goodness to L.A. all the way from San Juan Capistrano. We are die-hard fans and if loving Bad to the Bone this much is wrong, we don’t wanna be right!

So what should you order if you’re lucky enough to pay BTTB a visit? Well, you can’t go wrong with any of their meats but we love the tri-tip, ribs, and pulled pork. All the sides are great, too. Sweet potato fries, baked beans, potato salad… and my sweet heavens, the mac ‘n cheese. Don’t even get me started on the mac ‘n cheese. It is the world’s most perfect food. Just order it, and you can thank us later.

Bonus: they feature locally-brewed beers from the Capistrano Brewing Company. The Hefeweizen is fantastic.

  1. [...] Our Screen Door supper was hands down the BEST meal we had in Portland– which says a lot, considering all the amazing food we ate that week. We had to wait about an hour for a table, even though it was only Thursday, but the experience was absolutely worth every minute of the wait. We started off with hushpuppies and a couple of cleverly named cocktails (mine was Texas Black Gold), then eagerly got to work on buttermilk fried chicken, mac n’ cheese, catfish, collard greens, and cornbread. I also had this amazing salad with figs and nuts, but that was only so I wouldn’t feel quite as guilty about the other stuff. The mac n’ cheese was nothing short of life-changing. It was seriously epic. I think it actually beats the pants off the mac at Taste and Bad to the Bone. [...]
