Woolly Pocket GO!

Oh snap! The Bear Cave be upgradin’!!!

We were lucky enough to receive a Woolly Pocket as a wedding gift last October and we finally got around to filling it up. I’ve been jonesin’ to do it for a long time, but Presidents Day was go time!

Woolly Pockets are flexible, breathable, and modular gardening containers. They come in two styles: those designed to be placed on horizontal surfaces, and those designed to be hung on walls for vertical gardening.”

The felt pocket is made of 100% recycled plastic and the whole thing is assembled here in the good ol’ US of A.

We happen to know the creator of the Woolly Pocket Gardening Co, Miguel Nelson, or more we kinda got married at his and his wife’s wicked awesome home here in LA. Miguel and Sherry are inspirations to us in so many ways and are all-around good chaps.

The pocket is stupid easy to install. If you know how to put in a screw, you can put up one of these babies. The bathroom was the natural choice for us because, 1) we spend a lot of our time in there and 2) it has a great southern facing window. The window is frosted, so succulents (mi amor!) would not have been too happy. No matter, these lush jungle plants are perfect and I’m sure they appreciate the Mrs.’s steamy morning showers.

Stay tuned, homies, for more Bear Cave upgrades!

  4. Sadly, no. But I’ve had my eye on it since before Wilhelm Staehle was even making prints. All I used to be able to do was lust over it on Silhouette Masterpiece Theatre Maybe soon though!

  8. [...] Ok, sorry, it’s been a long week and a long day and I’m a little delirious. I had to get that out of my system. Tinga really is amazing though. The upscale-ish taqueria opened on La Brea just a couple short months ago, but their menu is already creating quite a bit of hype. Tender slow-cooked meats are served in handmade tortillas alongside delicious complements like grilled corn salad and creamy horchata, all in a modern industrial space complete with Woolly Pockets!
