Platform 5 Architects gave a face lift to this formerly abandoned “crack den” situated on Mapledene Road in the London borough of Hackney.
Time to meet the Bear Cave’s latest additions! Our living room got a bit of a facelift this week and we’re quite pleased with the results. There are still a few more projects to complete but we are definitely making progress, kiddies…
Oh snap! The Bear Cave be upgradin’!!!
We were lucky enough to receive a Woolly Pocket as a wedding gift last October and we finally got around to filling it up. I’ve been jonesin’ to do it for a long time, but Presidents Day was go time! Continue reading…
This neo-soul crooner, producer, and multi-instrumentalist dresses like he sounds. If you missed “Green Eyed Love” on our latest mixtape: GBM Vol 2, get on it! Better yet, do yourself a favor and just go buy his debut album A Strange Arrangement out on Stones Throw Records right now. It’s OK I’ll wait….

Occasionally during lunch I cruise down the street from my office and spend the hour at Barnes & Noble. Today I was thumbing through the debut issue of Elephant Magazine which featured the bold, crisp work of Internet artist Rafaël Rozendaal. The article was about Internet Art’s place in the art world, and how not many artists are fully utilizing the Internet as a creative medium. But aside from the debate, I was initially drawn in by Rafaël’s clean lines and accessible content, not realizing that each of the images included in the write-up were actually individual websites. Ok, ok, I know it looks like Curt’s showing me up. Dang fool won’t stop posting something every five minutes. I’m doing wedding recaps over here so I’m busy, geez.
Anyway, how rad are these “Urb Gardens“!? As an apartment-dwelling foodie who LOVES cooking with fresh herbs, I gotta say I’m quite smitten with this idea.

So 2010 is shaping up to be quite an awesome year for music. With Vampire Weekend topping the charts and quality releases from Spoon and dynamic duos on the cusp of greatness, I’d say 2010 was a pretty good year if tomorrow was New Years. An’ weez got ten more months to go! Here’s a quick round-up of some of the more eclectic yet AMAZING new releases since the ball dropped and we all saw how orange Dick Clark was.
Starting clockwise from top left:
1. Yeasayer – Odd Blood. This sophomore album is fun glitchy electro pop trio.
2. Beach House – Teen Dream. Gorgeous vocals and adventurous guitar that’s not to be missed.
3. Build An Ark – Love Pt. 1. LA based jazz ensemble super-group with a rotating cast of 30 artists creates pure beauty.
4. Gil Scott-Heron – I’m New Here. Fresh out of prison, this American poet and musician’s newest album was the centering force he needed to return to form after a 13 year absence.
Gotta collect ‘em all! Pok-e-mon!

Oooooo Vans, you tease. I love Vans. Classic. SoCal. Supa Sweet. Particularly the Vans Vault line. Mmmmm tasty. John Warren, senior designer of Vans shoes, dropped this clever little retrospective of the Sierra Chukka over on Hypebeast yesterday – I’m totally diggin’ the new kicks.

These 2010 Sierras are slated to drop in March at select Vault retailers.
